A hanging limb or split trunk can move without warning. Keep people and pets away. Do not stand under the tree, climb it or pull at a branch.
If power lines are involved
Stay clear of the tree and lines. Contact the electricity network operator or emergency services if there is immediate danger. Do not ask a general crew to work on an electrical hazard until the network operator has advised on safety.
Get the immediate work clear
From a safe position, take photos for the arborist and insurer. Explain what is blocked and whether a structure was hit. Ask the tree professional to distinguish urgent make-safe work from later removal, stump work and clean-up. Keep the written scope and photos for insurance discussions. Council rules may still apply; check the applicable urgent-work process.
